Title: LEEKS AND PEA QUESTION~ its okay its not a joke !!!
Post by: Duke Ellington on June 19, 2009, 17:44:40
Hi:)

I want to grow my leeks once my peas have been harvested. Now I know I should dig in the pea roots and have even read that you can dig in all the shoots too. ....but  my leeks will need to go in as soon as the peas have finished.
My question is ~~ should i dig them in and plant my leeks immediately or should I not bother with digging them in and plant my leeks?

Clear as mud eh ?

Duke :)

cut them down and plant the leeks. If they start growing again, hoe them!

The roots on peas are very short so you can simply pull them out then plant your leeks.

If you can push a dibber into the ground as it is then just cut down the vines and plant the leeks. If the ground is too hard you will have to fork it over first.
