I planted the leeks on Tuesday knowing there was going to be heavy rain yesterday. I dibbed a large hole, topped & tailed them, dropped them in & watered. The hole was so big the leeks were hardly visible after planting. Went to the plot today & the leeks have moved up the hole. Do I need to push them back in or will the roots pull them back down?
if your weather is like ours, it's heaving down again now..I'd just leave them, janet, they usually sort themselves out ;D
Rain - what rain?
It's been fine here today. We went to Tatton park with eldest born & her youngest. We saw a really amusing pig with a face only a mother could love or as daughter put it, that's a face for radio ;D ;D ;D.
I find watering down the hole again usually shoves them back. I assume it's birds tugging that pulls them up, bit like onion sets in Spring.
