A Woody. In Daughter-next-door's garden.

Spotty am - Green at 8pm!
Greens always make be a bit uneasy. It's never happened to me yet, but they have a reputation for drilling into beehives in the winter and finishing off the colony inside.
Tim did you have to take the photo from behind a window that's the only way i could get a picture of the ones around here, such skittish birds :)
Yes - with all its reflections!
And 'twas 50' away.
Good photot. There is one somewhere round our allotments. Have heard it frequently but no even seen it let alone photographed it.

Really....Oh dear! My allotment neighbours have sited their beehive right under the Green woodpeckers favourite tree.
I got to see them feeding their young a couple of metres away from me one day when I was weeding quietly!
You can often go for years without any trouble, then they suddenly seem to cotton on. Wire mesh wrapped loosely round the hives keeps them out.
I'll tell them.
Thanks ;)
