Title: Passata MAchine
Post by: Barnowl on June 17, 2009, 18:08:35
If you were thinking of getting a  passata machine like the one from Seeds of Italy it might be worth checking out Lakeland

They're not brilliant - it's worth feeding the pulp through more than once - but the better machines are a lot more money.

Yes, that's a real bargain. My machine which looks very similar, came from Seeds of Italy and it's great. I feed skinless toms through 4 or 5 times-or until nothing more can be extracted. Wouldn't be without it.

I was given one from Seeds of Italy for Christmas year before last.  But last year's tomatoes all got blighted.

I tried the machine out with oranges, and it was frightfully messy.  I hope tomatoes fare better.

Ya have to get a system going, like doing it on a heavy tray or similar. Not actually tried any other fruits myself though.
