I started my 1st green house this spring and i was given some hanging tomato and normal ones and i was told there were things i may need to cut off them as they grew can anyone tell what this is and how will i know when tomatos are due to grow and also today i repotted one of them and one snapped is there anyway i can repair it and help it get back to normal state ?????
Firstly I dont have a greenhouse envyous of you.
The broken one stick it in some compost to see if it roots, mine did when I broke me dads years ago and he thought me daft. Just take off a few leaves and leave a long enough stem, then plunge this into the soil.
The other point that you mentioned is one I do not know. I would say the hangers should not be touched so that more fruit form and you can eat them as they ripen.

Thanks so much i will give this a go i do have another one incase anything does go wrong
If you dont try then you never know.
If it doesnt work then you have at least given it a go.
With climbing tomatoes you should remove the side shoots that develop between the leafs and the main stem. Let them grow a little to be sure that they are shoots with leaves and not flower trusses then just pinch them out. There's an illustration here...

The hanging tomatoes (normally called tumblers) are almost certainly bush tomatoes and should be left to grow as they please.
As Barnowl states remove the side shoots;
