Title: How do I know if a pea is maincrop or early?

This is maybe a silly question but what's the diffeence an how can I tell which is which?

Also most early peas are "round" seeded which are hardier than maincrops...  :-X

smooth and round as opposed to wrinkley???? or are these different things

Yes "round" peas are very smooth and spherical... quite different.  :)
