Title: Name of pea?
Post by: petengade on June 14, 2009, 21:46:22
Bought a pack of ''Victorian Colossal Climbing'' peas, planted them, one pea plant has a white flower with a red centre, any idea of the name please,  all the rest have white flowers.

Quite possibly an accidental cross, unless it's a rogue seed of another variety.

out of a whole packet of seed only twelve germinated, second replacement packet was not any better, this coloured one is at the flowering stage at the moment, looking again it is pink outside with maroon centre.  I hope there will be seed to give away at harvest time.

Sounds like a purple podded pea. There are loads of purple varieties, many of which have lost their names.
