Title: Peas
Post by: GavinH on June 13, 2009, 13:33:12
Do peas need to be pollinated, we have netted them against pigeons and moths but wondered if we need to let the bee's on them.

Not really!

You will be surprised what insect life will get in even if netted

They self-pollinate so don't worry about them.

Thanks for the advice I have read several books about peas and not one mentioned about them being self pollinating.

Too true,
I have Brussel sprouts netted and seem to have new holes in the leaves every day, some of them are a foot off the ground so can't understand it.
