I have had a unexpected success with brocolli. Sowed it in yoghurt pots March and when other brassicas showed signs of damping off threw it outside. Planted much too close it is now producing small heads, but I have quite a lot so using three plants for a meal for two. (Like lots)Wished I had more. Have a few french beans (franchi purple kings) wish I had more of those too, loads of purple podded peas sown outside early march as mangetout. Lots of small courgettes, put fleece on every night after they out grew the plastic bottles.(5Ltr)

Did not realize that romanesque would over winter when did you sow them?
Made strawberry and redcurrant jam last night and had it with toast for breakfast. Dug up enough potatoes for two of us and of course the everlasting spinach that is going to seed, and mint for the potatoes. Redcurrants are a bit fiddly to pick and de-stalk but must get up there before the birds. Should have planted lettuce as have to buy one today unless some kind person on the allotment gives me one. Manuel might as he has loads and one can only eat so much lettuce at one sitting. Perhaps I can do a redcurrant swop.
Just finishing off last years potatoes... so the earlies will have to wait a week or so. Started the Strawberries. Lost of salad leaves. Onions are ready enough so a batch of onion soup to use up last years is in order. Loads of peas, despite eating some purple as mangetout.. :)
potatoes, (Rocket, Swift, Ulster Sceptre, Ulster Classic) Lettuce, (Tom Thumb), mixed Salad leaves, onions, peas (douce Provence), mangetout and purple mangetout, strawberries, raspberries, broad beans (Aquadulce claudia), carrots (early nantes, but they havent made it home as they were eaten straight out the ground!) have been given some garlic, so will investigate mine today.

Rhubarb, and I just brought home a great armful of topsetting onions. They've been circulating here as Walking Onions but I put a pic on an American board, and I've been told that there are several types, and this is one called Catawissa. Apparently they were found on an abandoned homestead in Canada, and their history isn't known. It's mainly used as a green onion so I'm going to chop them and freeze them for soup.
Taters. Spring cabbage, onions, broad beans, salad leaves little gem and webbs wonderful. strawberries rhubarb. Our redcurrants are not ready yet. Keep having a peek under the fleece bag
Lettuce, radish, spring onions, cabbage , earlies (arran pilots) , peas, some strawberries , some very tart gooseberries and of course had the rhubarb a while ago. :)
For tea new spuds, roasted onions (with steak). Ready to harvest we have plenty of herbs and salad, onions, garlic. In a week or so we will probably have peas and broad beans.

bought them last autumn as plants from a recommendation on here, the firm was having difficulties keeping up with supplies and sent the plants late..many died but we had 2, lost the labels so didn't realise what they were..the other is a bit smaller yet but on it's way ;D
Iwill try over wintering some if I grow them mysef they will be cheap enough loads of seed in Franchi packet. Might try some brocolli as well.
