Title: Bagged some Red Currants
Post by: Digeroo on June 12, 2009, 20:46:00
I put some branches of my red currant bush into a large clear plastic bag to prevent birds.  Done a great job, but also some of the fruit has ripened up sooner than on the rest of the bush, so got some early fruit.  Delicious.  Bagging up a bit more now.

Ours aren't quite ready, not being bagged, but more than enough to share...  ;D

Last year a family of blackbirds took up residence in one of my bushes.  They did not have to go far to feed the family. ;D   They just hopped round the netting, hence the plastic bags.  In fact the netting seemed to protect them from the local cats.
