Title: Chutney
Post by: Borlotti on June 12, 2009, 18:32:55
I won a lovely hamper at a tennis tournament, played rubbish, but won the raffle.  Ate all the food and have got left a jar of chutney, which I think is delicious, and wanted to get some more, and thank the person who made it.  It just has a label on it Gardeners, with a big house at the top of the label,  and it is spicy plum chutney, it is very, very nice.  The ingredients are plums 30%, sugar, malt vinegar, onions, apples, raisins, modified starch, salt.  It has got the label on it, Gardeners, with a house a the top, and no contact, phone number.  Just wished to say to the person who made it, I just can't stop eating it, and want some more.  Couldn't seem to find it on the web.  Shame they don't put a website address or phone number on there or I could compliment however made it, might be a contender for branston pickle.

You have the basic recipe there. Why not try and make it? I do that quite alot. Buy fancy ones from our local farm shop and then try and copy them. Made a nice apple chutney with saffron. Am going to try carrot and parsnip next.
