Spotted earlier today on two of my cuc's, have pruned out the affected leaves but im sure it will spread like wildfire, is there an organic way to rid myself of this horrible fungus?
The weather has gone from hot and dry to wet wet wet. Bad luck expect we will all be complaining about fungi soon.

try the bicarb + detergent on a few leaves first and wait a day at least, because it does cause some damage to the plant. Hopefully with more damage to the mildew

The enzymes in a 10 to 30% solution of fresh milk sprayed on plants will attack mildew.
A stronger solution will result in a foul smell as the milk goes rancid.
At the moment I have 3 Carmen plants with at least8 cukes on each, some are 10" long already. I will be leaving them to grow to 12-14". I will keep a look out but they appear fine for now. Thanks for the recommendations from Tim 2 years ago. They are the best disease resistant ones I have had and produce crops in abundance! ;)
It happened to me last year and i mixed up a weak water and milk solution, i used a clean paintbrush to paint it on.
It worked :) , after a day or two there was no more mildew.
But it was to late in the year for young cucs to develop :'(

Sown indoors in March and planted in a unheated GH in May. There will be none left for pickle.... I grow so many because my OH would buy loads to feed our rabbits and guinea pigs.

If I leave them on too long will the plant stop producing early? Are you saying they need to be picked at 10-12" for it to keep producing? Most we had last year from one plant was about 25-30. God knows where seed companies reckon they can get up to 100 per plant.........
just taken one at 8", it was a bit low so would've touched the floor..it was lovely, only need the tomatoes for a full salad now ;D
The other organic specific is Urine - diluted 1:4. This has the advantage with cucurbits that any excess which drips off also provides a valuable source of nitrogen to the roots.

1. We only grow the 'shorties' (mainly Passandra) these days - seldom need a whole long one, & great for the grandchilrens' school lunches!
2. We never get more than 50 per - so your 25 long ones is similar?
3. Ours were sown mid - April & went into the cold 'house mid-May.
4. Harvest size? No, I didn't comment on that. However, a plant can only support a given number of fruit at the same time without later ones aborting. But picking too early gives bland fruit, so best wait for the sides to get parallel for sweetness.

Well i went the Bicarb route mixed with water and used a hand sprayer to dose the leaves bother above and below, 2 days have passed and no more mildew!! hooraaarrrr.
what is the ingredients amts for the baking soda solution please, i need to apply some.
