Title: frecycle gone mad help
Post by: tomatoada on June 05, 2009, 17:09:43
My emails for freecycle have switched from several items per email to an individual item per email.   I have just received 60 in the last half hour.  I have emailed and asked for this to be rectified.  No change.  I have used the unsubsribe site and asked to be unsubcribed three times, and still they pour in to my email box.  Can anyone help PLEASE.

I'd go into the e-mail account & call it spam... as a quick fix until you're unsubscribed.

It's ages since I did this, but from what I remember you can change your method of receiving emails from Freecycle. When you log on, there will be a button to edit membership. I have mine set to receive special notices only. In fact it's so long since I received even a special notice from the site admin that I've probably been deleted for lack of activity. It means you don't get swamped with every individual email. I think you can also select a daily digest email to collate the whole day's offers.

Log into your Yahoo account then open any Freecycle email. At the bottom are some options listed, select 'switch delivery to daily digest'.

Mine switched the other way recently - I think I might have clicked the link accidentally.

..PS its worth using an email program where you can set 'rules' that send freecycle emails to their own folder

I am already on digest but still get 8-10 digests a day.

I joined freecycle but got that many emails that I panicked and unsubscribed.
