Title: Bye Bye Allergy
Post by: GrannieAnnie on June 03, 2009, 22:49:18
Here is something weird but wonderful- after years of Spring allergies (to grasses, trees, mold etc etc) since the age of 2, which some days even medication couldn't erase,
I now have no symptoms!

Since my anaphylactic episode from a hornet sting last summer I've been getting shots for a variety of stinging insects and for some  strange reason it has cured the other allergies as well. This has been the best Spring of my life, and I'm ecstatically enjoying inhaling the roses and honeysuckle like a normal person. 8)

Oh that is great. My Daughter suffers terribly from Hay Fever all year round and there seems to be no effective cure. :(

Years ago I tried allergy shots for the pollens causing me problems but was so highly sensitized the shots never seemed to help. The allergist guesses that these insect shots have revved up the immune system to much that it has helped my body against the pollens which doesn't make much sense but ... I'm not fighting it.

Has your dgt tried allergy shots? I hope she gets a good solution.

Our son gets it every year during the summer. I only get it early in the year from the tree pollen.. so pleased that you are free from it this year, must be a relief for you.
