Title: Garlic going to seed?
Post by: Teej on May 20, 2009, 22:10:54
My Autumn planted garlic is going really well but a couple of them look like seed heads are developing.
Do I just leave them or take them off?
Thanks v much for your help!

Yum, scapes... a real treat! Cook for a bit longer than you'd guess, serve with a little butter & salt, like garlicy asparagus...

Oh, is THAT what Scapes are??  I'm an idiot! ::)
Will take them off tonight (if it stays dry for 5 minutes!) & eat them.

Thanks very much folks.

Take them off and you'll get bigger bulbs. The scapes go well in stirfries.
