Anyone know if it is worth me going to Marks and Spencer tomorrow for their penny baazar. Has anyone been?
Not been myself but it sounds like its worth a look.
I took a bus to the nearest M&S to me yesterday. A 60 mile round trip. Earliest I could get there was 11:45. Scoured the store but found nothing. A stroppy assistant told me the £1 bargains were only between 8-9am! I didn't know M&S opened at 8am!
There was nothing mentioned in their pre-sale advertising about this daft opening time
So after waiting in a queue for a buy one get one free item costing £12 and being told it was actually £18, I left empty handed. Twas my fault, the offer was actually Buy open Get the other half price...... as another shopper said to me - You get Nowt for Nowt!
I went across the road to BHS and got a tremendous bargain. The only light fitting I liked was sold out but the assistant remebered the same one being returned as faulty. She got it from the stockroom and we couldnt find anything wrong with it except some tiny bubbles in the glass. Unseen when on the ceiling. So I got it for £10 instead of £20, similar items in other shops £40 plus.
Last time I'll bother with M&S except for their Dinner for 2 at £10 plus wine offer. I can get that at their food outlet much nearer to home.

My friend went today having left yesterday after seeing the length of the queue. Today she got closer (a few metres away) & was informed that all they had left was......... cans of lemonade :-\
Thought it sounded too good to be true, don't think I will bother.
