Title: Holidays
Post by: Borlotti on May 20, 2009, 11:33:42
What is the first thing you do when you get back from holiday.  I check the cat is OK, and then if it is not too dark go to the allotment.  How things change in a week.  Think May is the wrong time to go away and will get withdrawal symptons whilst away.

After returning from a 2 week visit to my sister in Kent first thing I did was to dash up to the greenhouse to make sure daughter had looked after all the plants. She had PHEW!! That was before I put the kettle on, a first for me.
Will have to ask for a repeat performance by her when I go to France end of June, but that is only a short visit of 4 days.

Thought I had it sorted before I went away for a week last week, weeds seem to have come from nowhere and everything has to go in before I go away again on Monday. All dry as a bone but after two days on the plot (and one very bad tempered husband ::)) all should be in and straw mulched to keep weeds away and moisture in. Fingers crossed it all goes according to plan. I can't bear to think all that hard graft was for nothing.
