Title: Compost -Ash??
Post by: chippy queen on May 19, 2009, 15:57:41
Hi, I have just come back from the lottie and have just had a bit of a burn up of cardboard, wood etc and was wondering if the ash from this can be put into the compost bin (obviously when it has cooled down) or not??

Isn't that a waste though ? Surely the rain would, over time wash all the pot ash out.

Aint it better to chuck it in a bucket of water and then water the plants with it ?

It's a short-term fertiliser, so it might be better to keep it separate and put it on the plants when they need it.
