Title: Green little caterpillars

Hi today i have found little green caterpillars on my gooseberry bush , i am new to gardening and i have not got a clue what to do. Its a new bush planted last year.
Please can someone give me some advice on how to keep them off.

squish 'em..sounds like gooseberry sawfly, they can strip the leaves off a bush very quickly

Thank you, is that all i can do can i not spray the bush with something?I did put some rubarb leaves under the bush but it seems that did not work lol.

Welcome to A4A Leets, yes you can spray them, but you and the birds end up eating some of it. I squish them... put some paper down before you start as a lot of the little **** drop onto the soil when threatened...  :)

Well its 3 days since i found the little buggers and today when i went up there was only 1 so i hope if i keep checking my gooseberry will be ok, can anyone tell me if the leaves will grow back where the catterpillars have striped them?
