Title: given up smoking again.
Post by: mummybunny on May 13, 2009, 14:59:37
Well i gave up for two years then stupidly started again  :-[. I'm now on my second day (46 hrs) and I'm already pulling my hair out. My temper is awful and i cant seem to get the idea one more wont hurt out of my head. Even though i know it will.

Just cant wait till the little voice in my head goes  ::) Also find it more frustrating as my OH doesn't and never has smoked so really doesn't see what the fuss is all about  >:( . I know it isn't his fault and i am glad he doesn't smoke makes it easier to give up just think he thinks its all in my head  :P

How long till i start to feel normal again. Its driving me nuts!!!

I'd give it a couple of years.

Actually the phyical addiction is over and done with fairly quickly  but the mental side requires longer.  Personally I had stomach ulcers which stopped the day I stopped smoking so I had a great incentive..

go to your local doctors surgery, and see the practice nurse (if they got one, or else see doctor) get some of the 16, or 18 hr patches.
they worked for me, and I used to smoke 40 a day up until jan 1st this year.
help is out there, grab it with both hands!! ;)

Gave up 38yrs. ago. Cold turkey. Had an insentive though along with the missus.
Now, had a bottle of red wine on Sunday. nuts! had another tonight.
Need an insentive - now let me think?

Divorce - nah---------not yet!

Read Allen Carr's "only way to stop smoking permanently".. if you havent already.

I have stopped and started on numerous occasions, but this book has been a godsend as it really did change my views on the habit.
