Title: DRY SOIL
Post by: betula on May 10, 2009, 13:42:58
The wind has been blowing for several days and the soil is very dry.

Hope we have a drop of rain soon.

Only light rain and overnight of course ;D

Very dry here, but a bit of rain and my soil forms an inch thick cap.

I joked to a neighbouring plotholder a few weeks back, while some plots were still under water, that within a short time we would be wishing for rain!  Seems it has come sooner than I thought :D

Yes, the recent winds have turned my mini plot into a dustbowl. Even the areas that were mulched with horse manure just rake over like dry soil. Amazing what a few weeks can make.

Purple Heather - thanks, according to the forecast it's due here on Friday and Sunday, so that gives me Saturday to go to the plot  ;D

You are welcome, the forecast seems to indicate that every one will get some rain during the week.

It is frost we do not want. Quite a lot have put things out, a little soon because of the sun we had promising an early summer.

:) I hope you are right PH our plots are rock hard and with the usual suspects hogging the taps with the longest hose pipes in the world >:( ;D it's not going to get much better / shades x

OK. So who's plot is now waterlogged  ;D  Who said they're going to send rain, it's bucketing down here in North Wales and has been for days. The weather changes by the minute and I no sooner put plants out to harden off, they get drowned by the rain and blown out of their pots by the wind! I know, it's a sign it's nearly mid Summer  :D
