Title: Cabbage White etc. when do they start laying eggs?
Post by: oliveoyl_25 on May 09, 2009, 10:28:27
As the title says... when do I need to get my brassicas netted off by?  I've got the hoops, but no netting yet. I've noticed c/w fluttering about, but haven't spotted any eggs on my plants.

We have noticed them too, quite a lot for this time of year.

I have always thought that if they were about they cold be egg laying.

However as we have a pigeons problem everything is either netted or under cloches anyway.

Noticed last year that the cloches kept things 'cleaner' specially the lettuce which is planted between the cabbages to make good use of valuable space.

Thanks people.  Looks like I'll have to buy some... I was hoping to blag some from somewhere but as it's now getting urgent, I'd better get the old purse out!
