Post by: coznbob on April 30, 2009, 13:07:51
Met office's latest weather prediction for the next 3 months...

Warmer than average and drier than average ;D

Hopefully be able to get some decent toms this year, if I can keep up with the watering ::)

They are having problems predicting the forecast for the day let alone the whole summer.  It would be nice to have a sunnier summer than last year but I will not hold my breathe.

My tomatoes all died last year, but I had piles of runner beans.

I still like the old poem.

Whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot,
You must weather the weather whatever the weather,
Whether you like it or not.

I'll take each day as it comes and the weather forecast with a pinch of salt....  Anything more than 2-3  days ahead is not worth bothering with.

I think we are going to have a beautiful summer and I have already got my sun hat out.  Might have to buy a bigger watering can but I don't care, looking forward to all that sun and no work AS I AM RETIRED.

I am with Ktlawson on this one.
When I wake up and look out of the window then I judge the weather for that day ::)

The long range forecast is based mainly on trends and records from previous years.  If memory serves me correctly, both the last two years have been forecast as being wetter and colder than average (that was certainly the forecast last year) so not far wrong there.  It is not guarenteed but can be seen as an indicator - and we are due one.
