Title: Cuckoo!
Post by: Old bird on April 28, 2009, 12:39:19
I heard one last night!  I hadn't heard any for a couple of years now - so was quite pleased as they are meant to be in major decline.  Still hate to think of their fat babies kicking out the natural young of the nest that they are put into - but then Nature!

i heard one last summer while waiting for the bus, it was the first time i heard one but the call was quite distinctive and there was no mistaking it for anything else. i was quite excited for days on end and even returned to the bus stop three times in the same week to see if i could hear it again ::) :-[ but wasn't lucky to get a repeat experience :'(
