Title: Sweet Peas
Post by: Peter H on September 18, 2004, 13:11:05
Here are next year's sweet peas (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v173/Peter3/sweetpeas007.jpg) they are 6" high and the tops nipped out so they can bush. Can't remember the name but they are scented.

They look very healthy Peter. I didn't know you could start sweetpeas so early. I've always started them indoors around Feb. Will they grow very much during winter? What sort of size would they be when you plant them out and when do you plant out, I guess you can plant fairly early and protect with cloches.

Hi Jesseveve, i keep them in a cold frame all winter not allowing any frost to get to them, they still grow but very slowly. I will plant them out about March/April, provided the frosts have finished. They are usually about 12" high, and no i dont use cloches i just rely on my better judgement  :-\ ;).
