Title: Potatoe question again sorry!!!
Post by: mummybunny on April 27, 2009, 23:12:07
;D Hi guys back again to pick your brains. I managed to get some potatoes off freecycle to pop down the lottie. Maris piper and swift.

I know the swift are early as there the ones i have in the garden. But what are maris piper? Also is it to late for swift poatoes. I have had mine planted for about a month!

Thanks  8)

Earlies only means how long they take to form tubers... you can put them in now until about early July. Maris Piper take longer but still have bags of time...

From memory Maris Piper is supposed to be the variety for proper chipshop chips..... time to see if you can freecycle a deep-fat fryer.... :-)
