which one :D
the one in the middle is surely a buddleia, with the blue flowers. if it is, then the answer is both a weed and a garden plant
Hi,
Sorry about that, I have re cropped the image, Its the plant in the middle with the big leaves,
The pinkish flowers in the picture are just cherry blossom fallen from my tree,
Thx Chris
Think it could be either one of the Comfrey's or Alkanet.
To me, it would depend where it was whether I classed it as a 'weed' or a 'plant' - if in a wild part of the garden, I'd class it as a plant as the flowers of both comfrey and alkanet are much loved by bees. If in a more formal part of the garden, then 'weeds'. Alkanet has bright blue flowers, comfrey has white flowers or flowers of pinkish-blue-redish colour. Both self seed freely
Thx for that,
We had it last year and dug it up but its come back again this year, I think it had small white flowers on it last year,
Thx again Chris
hiys, chris, looks like comfrey to me, good feed plant (leaves soaked in some water), stinks but it's good ;D
Hi Chris, welcome to A4A, another vote for Comfrey here... :)
Hi all,
Thx for all your replies, Is there an easy way to get rid of it, I dug it up last year and now its come back, The roots are massive, Would some sort of weed killer sort it,
Thx Chris
Comfrey - see other thread about using it. I personally think it's a really good plant, very useful.
If it is absolutely confirmed as comfrey, the you can eat it
At one time Comfrey was considered edible (the young leaves could be dipped in batter and then fried) - but it was then found that it caused liver damage - so you shouldn't eat it.
Hi and thx for that,
I really only want to get rid of it, It takes over an area of my garden and blocks the light so all the other plants around it suffer,
Any ideas how to remove it completely please,
Thx Chris
