Title: Planting Cucumbers
Post by: davyw1 on April 26, 2009, 19:24:28
It appears a few people have lost some cucumbers thro stem rot, try this to avoid it

A bucket cut in half and a small amount of potting compost inside.

Place the cucumber on top

[attachment=2]

Push the plant down lightly then place some more compost on top

[attachment=3]

dont compeatly fill round the edges as this is where you feed the plant

[attachment=4]

Another meathod is to put the plant to the rear

end result[attachment=6]

I am growing outdoor ones, I use a 2ltr pop bottle cut in half, the top half is planted with cue plant so when watering its into the bottle and straight to the roots works for pumpkins as well.
