I am thinking of interplanting some yellow wax beans between my broad beans or possibly garlic. Is there a potential problem putting them in with garlic? I plan to plant other beans once my (overwintered) broad beans are harvested so will need to consider where I sow the YWB I guess.
Also how long is it until maturity of these beans?
Thanks for all advice,
Psi
Hi Psi, :)
I don`t keep written notes but
I looked at some pictures of last years crop, the plants were six - eight feet tall, and very prolific. I let the beans dry in the pod and I`m still eating the harvest. I intend to grow more this year. I just grew them up a very large bean fence and bamboo teepees. I think they are vulnerable to slugs in the early stages and I kept the small plants clear of any place slugs may lurk. I also surrounded them with a low net fence against pigeons and pheasants.
As for time of harvesting at fully dried out I only know it was slightly later than other varieties of bean and just before the weather started turning damp in the mornings.
I`m sure someone here writes down better details. ;D
