There are loads of these all over my dining and kitchen windows - inside :( They are kind of like a small ladybird (5-7mm) but black/grey. They just keep appearing, any ideas??

can't quite see as the pic is a bit blurry but i think they may be young shield bugs i had these last year and sent a picture to an entomologist and that's what she said they were.
I have looked at pictures of shield bugs and pollen beetles on google and neither fit the bill. they really do look more ladybird like just smaller and black/grey. Any other suggestions??? Will try and get a better pic.

just googed and it deffo looks like a carpet beetle, oh dear it says in wikipedia that they like soiled fabrics and dead insects, so did you get round to your spring cleaning this year ;).

There are lots of little black beetles, so don't despair. What you need to do is get some of the beetles to an entomologist; they could tell you.
It's very weird as I don't even have any carpets - all wood floors and my curtains are drycleaned! Will have to get a pest control out to source the nest... yuk :(
My daughter had carpet beetles and I was amazed cos she was the most houseproud person I know. I wouldn't worry too much love
