Title: Daft question.
Post by: northener on April 19, 2009, 09:15:04
Can you get a tan in the greenhouse? Spent a good 4 hours in the greenhouse yesterday, sun was out most of the time but still look like a milk bottle.

Hopefully Baccy Man will be along soon but my understanding is that glass blocks UVB which is what causes redness and sunburn.  It only partially blocks UVA which can cause skin aging and cancer.

How interesting, just did a bit of research and ordinary glass will in fact reduce the burning/tanning effect of the suns rays quite considerably! On this forum I learn something new every day! 8)
