The compost container that hub made years ago has now seen better days, so thought I would try one of those plastic ones that you can turn. I understand that turning the compost helps and thought this would be a good way of doing it to save all the hard work of doing it by hand ::) ;)
Has anyone tried this type and if so, are they any good ???
If they are - can anyone tell me where I can get one.
Pat
Hi Pat, I have been given one of these (well I haven't collected it yet) and all I can find out about it is on this site that is very bias. http://www.epinions.com/content_89118838404
They have similar ones in B&Q but as far as I am aware they don't swivel. ???
Sorry I can't be of any more help but will keep my eye open and will monitor the reponses on here.
Roy ;D
Pat
I haven't got one myself but have heard that they are extremly heavy to turn once they are half full.
Thanks for the info Roy - I didn't realise they were so expensive (around £100 in our money I think :o). Maybe I can find one a bit cheaper - otherwise it is back to the traditional compost heap :( ;)
and simhop - as far as turning it goes, I will be the one filling it up - not doing the hard work ;D
Pat
But not so bad when theyr'e half empty ;D ;D ;D
Gardengirl, you should be able to get the Blackwall tumbler for more like £70 from a shop -but try your council most of them offer big discounts on composters of one sort or another. Our think our Rotol (not a tumbler despite its name) bin was listed at 30 quid or more and we got it for a tenner.
Jeremy
Thanks for that Jeremy - will try the council before looking any further.
