the tables and stuff are filling up, 2nd, 3rd, 4th may and the weekend after if there is anything left ;D
You might want to post a postcode.... :)
will do that tomorrow, I think, I'll have to dig out my membership card or get a flyer from the big shed ;D
Gosh, for a small site you do yourselves proud. We have over 200 plots, 400 members and our plant sale is puny in comparison.
Hi MS. Is it just veg or are you doing flowers as well?
Janet
bedding, baskets, pots, even some perennials and a few shrubs..bags of mother earth, herbs and veggie plants, strawberry runners, you name it ;D
Brilliant. Thanks.
Janet
We are behind what used to be the Intex club on Rivington venue, WA3 3HG.
everybody welcome , I'll even give you a cuppa ;D
You've got a lovely lot of plants there, hope the sale goes well.
Is it something you do every year? We will be having ours on May 16th, combined with a 'Cream Tea' :) which one of our newcomers has 'offered' to organise. We are hoping that visitors will buy the plants then sit around eating fresh cream cakes and having a cuppa! It's in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care so I hope we do well.
Betty
this is the third year we've done it, just found out the photographer from the local free paper is coming tomorrow to do a feature :o
we don't do cakes, last year we had over 100 poeple through the gates on the first day, it's hard enough getting enough people to help serve people ;D
hope yours goes well, we've over 200 of orders already but we've spent 600 so a bit of a way to go yet :)
It's our third year too.
Last year we made £400 profit. All our plants are donated - it sounds from what you say that yours are bought in?
We had ours in the free paper last year, it is one of the best ways to advertise for us. Two people who deliver papers are also plotholders and they are going to put one of our leaflets through letterboxes at the same time.
Just hope it doesn't rain.....
we've bought in 400.00 worth of plants, all the rest are raised from seed, cuttings etc..last year we made 1300.00 profit, we were making a raised bed area for our broadmead friends, that's done but we need a new communal greenhouse as the one we have isn't safe for them to go in and we can't get wheelchairs in there, they have a space in the communal polytunnel though, they can plant in it after the sale, it's covered in table tops and plants at the moment , theirs is under the middle ;D
most money is made on hanging baskets and re-filling them

It sounds very well organised. How much do you sell the hanging baskets for (if you don't mind me asking)? Do you get advance orders for them?
the green plastic ones go for 10.00, up to 16.00 for the maize leaf and cone ones, we try to give the community a good deal, we are surrounded by elderly and disabled homes so they buy lots ..
anyone getting their basket re-filled get 2.00 off the price of the size basket we are selling, if that makes sense :)
that includes feed for the season and water retaining stuff in them :)
we have 12 baskets and 7 containers already ;D
As a fellow gardener and sometime seller(I`ve taken £4.20 sofar today ;D)
I wish you and all concerned good weather and an even better turn out
ta, chuck..my last year organising it so I'd like it to be a good one
I was under the impression most sites had a "no selling" rule...?
it's not individuals, it's for improvements to the site :)
Most sites do have a rule saying no selling, though it's effectively unenforceable. There are ways round it for associations though. It's too early yet to say how it'll work out, but we've set up an arrangement with a local greengrocer. Donated surplus produce is to be sold to him to raise money for site funds.
Do we get A4A discount :P You are only about 15 miles from us. Tempting to come over for a nosey. ;D
This weekend then, times???
:)
11 am to 2pm, saturday, sunday and monday...a4a members can stay after and have a cuppa and a biscuit in the conservatory ;D
more than welcome, sparkly ;D
postcode wa3 3hg, follow the balloons and signs ;D
Sounds good, we are fairly close :)
Good luck with your plant sale MS, I'm sure you will do really well.
Wish I lived a bit nearer Manics

hope you can make it, hector ;D
I'd love you and big tone to come, shirley and squash, but it's a long way, I'll post some pics afterwards :)
have a good day, everyone, if the photographer is chasing me around again, he might just end up in the compost heap ;D
If we can come probably tomorrow...will ask for Manuicscouser :) We will be the Scottish family :)
We hope you have a great day Manics
Hope everything goes OK
from this ;D
to this ;D ;D
over 1,400 and rising, mind you, we spent 900.00 :o
Well done Manics and friends
ta, shirley, just got 2 more days to go, got face ache from smiling ..may sell out tomorrow..lots of plants still outside, plus some baskets ;D
keep up the good work... ;D
So glad it went well. Bet you sleep well tonight.
Janet
Glad the sale went well Manic. Shame I didn't make it over. If we hadn't been under time pressure to get the spuds in I would have been there. Our plant sale isn't until the end of the month, but it is nothing to the scale of yours.
yesterday we didn't do as much and today, even less..glad of the rest though, got a knee like a balloon ;D
we've still got plenty for next weekend but it'll be mainly hanging baskets and bedding, unless it all goes in the week .
people seem to see the gate open and just wander in, in case ;D
Good result overall then... :)
nearly beaten last year's profit..still got 25 hanging baskets to go ;D
Well done. Have you a total yet?
Janet
we've taken just over 2,000, costs 900.00 so need another 200.00 to beat last years ;D
having a break today, knee like a balloon ::)
Excellent result, well done!
Hope your knee is better soon.
Well done... :) Take a good rest..
Sounds like a great success, and I hope you make your target and have a rest ;D
