Title: Everlasting spinach
Post by: Borlotti on April 14, 2009, 18:32:36
If I had one plant that was value for money and easy to grow and we like eating I think it would have to be everlasting spinach.  Even the pigeons don't completely destroy it.  Compost the old leaves and cook the young ones, and hopefully it is good for you.  Just off to cook some as we had had it most nights, not too keen on chard (if that is the right name, coloured spinach), cooked the stalks and we hated them.

It is not what the industry calls pure spinach it is perpetual beet.

But it does the job. Sadly it will eventually go to seed, just grow some more.

Love it.
