Title: Mung Beans
Post by: mememe72 on April 12, 2009, 22:00:51
I have been looking for mung beans to grow with the children at school and have not been able to find any in shops.  If anybody knows of anywhere that sells them please could you let me know.  Thanks

I would have a look in the 'world foods' sections of the larger supermarkets. I got some from ASDA.

A whole food shop would be likely to have them as well.

Mung beans are normally used for beansprouts.

You might struggle to grow them to anything more than the sprout stage, they're considered a warm weather plant in India.... otherwise from memory the normal varieties hit about 4-6 feet tall and will definitely need some support....
