hi
does anyone have a good recipe for stinging nettle beer? ::)(for my dad)
Sorry, not answering but an aside. My BiL is a Medieavalist and we are going to get a project going next year to grow a bit of barley and harvest nettles to make a genuine Medieaval style beer. Nettles used to be used before hops in this country (Heather in Scotland) as the preservative. Maybe you could follow a hop recipe and substitute the hops for nettles.
Hi there Goode Life,
I found this recipe on the River Cottage Website I hope it helps.

I remember drinking it on Holiday in Morecambe in the late 60's and early 70's...
:-X
Never tried it, but apparently I think its supposed to be quite potent but then I think most homebrew is if you do it right ;)
What is Cream of Tartar from the river cottage recipe?
I quite fancy making a brew, not sure what it'll taste like but I'd give it a go.
Cream of Tartar is potassium hydrogen tartrate. You buy it in the supermarket.
Hope this link helps.
