Post by: Yuet_Lee on September 13, 2004, 00:47:25
Hi there,
It's not watermelon! Is it a marrow or pumpkin? It's originally from Australia. It introduced to Hong Kong. So I brought some seeds when I last visited. It'll grow to around 15-25 lb averaged. I got one plant with 20 fruits in. The flesh was white. When they get to certain size the skin was  rock hard. Hardy cut them in half. The flesh we made soup of it. After it cook the flesh look like needles (or sharkin). So we name it Sharkin marrow. I think these should have a proper name, anybody know please? There's only one plant in that picture.(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v412/sharliu/sharkinmarrow.jpg)  (http://ttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v412/sharliu/sharkinmarrow.jpg)
