Title: Parsnips in newspaper pots
Post by: gb990 on March 30, 2009, 19:15:18
Hi All

I have a load of parsnips in newspaper pot in the greenhouse, just wondering how soon i can get them planted out.

The seedings are about an inch tall by the way. :)

You really need to get them out asap... or the main root will be checked and you will get stumpy parsnips about 5-6" long then triffids below that!!  :)

I sowed three to a loo roll tube, and have been pulling the extras out to leave just one, they have really long roots - some about 5 cm already

My advice would be not to pull them but cut the tops off the ones you don,t want as they may have entwined so you could pull them all out.
