Title: Peas - Starting them off in a sprouter
Post by: Old bird on March 30, 2009, 12:32:05
I got some of those batchelor dried peas - just to see what they tasted like in the sprouter!  But they weren't that nice tasting sprouts were good but a bit chewy - anyway outcome was that I left them for a few days and they developed a complicated root system and lots of it.

Decided to try these ones outside - as I always have a dismal show when mice slugs and whatever else has a feast at my expense!  Planted them out yesterday and they are looking really good today!

Thought it may be helpful to try this for others whose peas suddenly disappear and never make daylight!  It is quite handy as you can space them and - hopefully they will do alright.

I have put some "good" peas in today to see if I can do the same with some varieties that I really like - leaving the marrowfat ones just as a trial run!!
