Title: Feeding container fruit trees
Post by: tricia on March 26, 2009, 16:20:50
What should I be feeding my container fruit trees please? I have morello cherry, plum, apples, pears, nectarines, apricot and a gooseberry bush which, for lack of space, is in a large tub. Would a general fertiliser be okay?

Thanks

Tricia

Am I reading this right Tricia  ???  ...............are they all in one pot?

There is a bit here on container growing; http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/Containers-Fruit%20trees/Containers-Fruit%20trees.htm

:-[ Sorry, not very well thought out sentence TeeGee! No, of course they are each in separate, large containers. I only mentioned the gooseberry specifically as I know they are not usually considered container plants.

So, at the moment, when they are coming into flower I need do nothing? Just have to wait till embryo fruit - hopefully - form, then a fortnightly feed with liquid tomato feed. Easy, peasy and sorted. Many thanks.
