I was wondering if anyone had been watch the big dig on sky.
I was watching last night and one of the guys were using rubarb leaves for feeding has any tried this.
I knew some one that used nettles for the same thing
I've watched the Big Dig many many times. I like it, because it's the only program entirely about allotments.
I mentioned to Terry Walton (Rhondda Valley Allotments) that he should get his own program. I also listen to him on the Jeremy Vine show on Fridays.
The big dig is fab, I always sky plus it!
Be nice if they did a new series, it's not just the gardening I like the 'characters'.

I 2nd that
Watched it dozens of times and will do again. Listened to all Terry Waltons podcasts.
The rhubarb spray is not for feeding, it's used as an insecticide, butterfly deterrent.
its a fab show . it is about time they made some more they are so helpfull. :) :) :)
I wish they would make another series as well

I know its good for the plants but it smells bl**dy awfull
Will it keep cats of the plot as well? I've watch several times as well. Its a great program and heartly agree that a new series would be great.
I loved that big pumpkin!
I've seen it many times, and would also welcome a new series.
The chap in Highgate who makes the chairs has written a book which is rather good - "close to the Veg"
Hello Mrs Soup and welcome to A4A.
I've read that book also... a good read :D
You'd have thought given the millions of TV channels there are now that someone would do a veg growing show of some kind, allotment focused or not. I know there's loads of gardening shows on UK TV Gardens (or whatever its called) but none of them focus on veg growing which seems a shame....
just found it and v+ it....lol
just watched the last 1 love the size of terry's pumpkin ;D ;D ;D
Any chance non-Sky viewers can watch this via the internet? I've just finished reading Terry Walton's book and it's piqued my interest...
Thanks!

The Big Dig has now finished.
But there are two more veg/allotment based shows starting tonight and running all week- one about growing veg', the other about allotments.
They are on Sky channel 248 from 8pm.
I was about to say that CD but you got there 1st.
I do wish they would make more
Is 'Digging For Victory' a repeat of the series that was on last year where they try to find the 'best' allotment site in the country, or is it a new series for this year?

Repeat, I think.
The male presenter is a twerp! But the female one is very pretty.

Yeah, to be honest I watched it last year because it was the only 'veggie' thing on but it wasn't exactly enthraling TV. as you say, the guy on it may well be a very good gardener but he's not a very good presenter at all...
UKTV Gardens is closing and being merged with UKTV Home.
