Last year I had loads of leeks in the nursery bed which I did not plant out in time, so come September/October (when there was room) they got planted.
They are now, 'little finger thick'. My bigger leeks are just coming to the end as I noticed some have got the woody middles starting.
So, any ideas for using up the little skinny ones. I thought they would look nice in little bunches, just steamed but it sounds rather boring, even with a cheese sauce.
We don't care for soups.
I have loads too!
We like them braised, whole, covered in stock, bring to a simmer then bung in the oven until soft, or steamed or boiled, chilled quickly, then drizzle with balsamic (can then be thrown on the barbeque at this stage) or vinegrette and have as a salad.

The Bar be Que bit, nice as it is, I do not think we are quite ready for that but I have one of those George Foreman Grills I have not used for a while and I think that it is coming out of mothballs.
