This is a message from my brother, don't know if anyone is interested but it's 32 years since my mu dies of breast cancer and I've lost a few friends to it in the last few years so just thought I'd ask, no pressure :)
: Invite others to pledge you
Hi everyone,
I know some of you supported me in the Relay for Life last year and possibly the previous year, so I'm doing a onetime mailshot to everyone. Some of you are just unfortunate enough to be in my address book and so are inlcluded ;-)
No pressure, but if you can give anything to this worthy cause (I know, there are lot's of worthy causes ;-) ).....
Here's the standard blurb, and the link to my donation page should appear at the bottom of the message.
Thanks everyone
Tom
Want to be part of a community that takes up the fight? Help me support the fight against cancer by pledging me for my participation in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life.
The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight non-competitive relay that celebrates cancer survivors and pays tribute to the lives of loved ones. It involves teams of 10 people who take turns walking, running or strolling around a track to raise money to support the work of the Canadian Cancer Society. It's a night of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer.
Funds raised through Relay For Life make a difference. They help the Canadian Cancer Society fund the most promising research projects in the country, provide information services and support programs in the community and advocate for public policies that prevent cancer and help those living with it. You can help make cancer history by pledging my participation in Relay For Life. It';s easier than ever - just click the link at the bottom of this message to view my personal page and look for the blue button to support me in this event. Online pledging is secure and it saves the Society money by reducing administrative costs. No amount is too small, or too big. And with a donation of $20 or more, you will receive a tax receipt immediately by e-mail.
Thanks,
Tom

Sorry Miss W, but for me it's Spam :-[
Yes, it's true, yes, the Relay/Walk/Run/Jump off a bridge & watch me do triple Somersaults/ for Life happens.
All over the world, it happens.
If you want to support conditions/funding to affect the treatment of what happens locally to you...do your walking/running/jumping by all means...but also...do a bitov research while you're at it?
Then you might find out why Canada has better survival rates than the UK...
And it doesn't need money to change our BC survival rates.....or rather, of course, it does!....how money within the NH is allocated for medications can be crucial.
(ooh! did I rant here? gotta be time for me meds......or anovver square of choclit ;D)
I do not follow your reasoning. If they find a cure for Breast Cancer in Canada they are not going to keep it a secret are they?
Does not matter what country does the research, the end result will benefit everyone. :)
sorry, Lish but it's my brother who's doing the walk, he lives there, it's his friend who is dying of breast cancer, my mum and 2 friends died of it, I don't care who finds a cure as long as it's found :(
To clarify. Medicines for the treatment/prolongment of life/whatever of BC sufferers are known world-wide, of course ::), but are more available in Canada & the US than they are here because we are held back by our NICE (hardly >:() funding regulations for what sufferers are entitled to access under the British NHS....with me so far?
My point, therefore, is that if you want to fund money for the treatment of BC in the UKand actively help in the prolongment of lives here...support our UK Cancer Charities to fund their campaigns to use the medicines which are already proving successful in the US and Canada.
Still do not understand why you referred to the original post as spam.
It was a serious request.
..and I don't understand why anyone of a charitable disposition would wish to confine their support to folk in the UK. :(
