Title: And it starts
Post by: Inky on March 05, 2009, 20:16:22
Im all excited, I have just this minute put in my order to blackmoor for all my fruit. I did a bit of shopping around incl the supermarket/cheap shop, garden centres and numerous online mail orders and they seemed the best. One of ther best in terms of price for quality stuff. Particularly as I want dwarf trees and also a family apple tree as only having the one, its 3 verieties grafted onto one.

So I have ordered:
40 strawberry,  10 of each, early, mid, late and perpetual
20 raspberry canes, 10 of each summer and autumn fruiting
2 blueberry 2 dif varieties
2 redcurrent 2 diff
2 rubarb 2 diff
1 stella cherry
1 family apple tree

Cant wait for them all to arrive and get them in!

Just thought I would say, my fruit plants/trees arrived today.

Im so impressed all of them are way bigger than expected, about double the size of stuff from garden centres. Particularly the redcurrent, which for some reason I thought was like a little shrub, and I have had over a 5ft tree delivered (glad I did just get one now!)

I have just stood everything in buckets of water for an hour or so, then I have some compost that I can stick in the buckets instead, as I wont be able to go and plant them till Sunday.

Really looking forward to it.
