Title: compost ??
Post by: shirley B on March 04, 2009, 15:04:31
Hi, I have a plot with a lot of unused spinach, question= can I chop it with the spade and dig it in, or is it best put in the compost bin?.   Shirley B

Personally I compost any left overs... but chop and bury would be acceptable too..  ;D

Hiya, mor, welcome to the site  ;D
it'd be brill in the bottom of a trench for beans (the spinach, that is)

thanks to all for your replies, we have eaten spinach until it comes out of our ears, the freezer is well loaded and we do have two compost heaps, just looking to see if it would make a good green manure,  will go with manicscousers idea
and put it in the bean trench, great idea, do agree it wouldn't be so good putting the site there.  ;D
