Just a quick survey what is the average price you would have to pay for an allotment size roughly

Ours is 56'x18' classed a half plot. We paid £12.50 inc insurance & a key, we also have water on site. Tap is about 20' from our plot. We get it for half price as we are OAPs.

I'm on a council site.  They have put 3 new tanks in, new gates and track this winter.  And they provided free wood chips for a parking area.  Thanks Ceres never was much good at Maths

hey
i measured my plot today  :)
it is roughly 90ft x 20ft.
how do i work out how many rods that is??

thanks

A rod is 5.5 yards or 16.5 feet so divide 90 by 16.5 and 20 by 16.5 then multiply the two results together to give you the square rod area.

so i make it 6.5 roods, is that right??

In Maidstone we pay £2.40/rod and £0.60/rod for water rates. So £3.00 per rod, really.

so £45 for 6.5 rods seems alot compared to what others pay  :(

me again lol
just looked on the council web site for the allotments. it says that the price for the allotments i am on is £4.12 per rod. so that would mean i should be paying £26.78 not £45 for my 6.5 rod plot.
what should i do about this? i wouldnt mind a few pounds but that is a bit of a difference. anyone had experience of this?

thanks
