How do you know.  Do you smell cats pee.  My blackcurrants smell lovely, I think, hope.  Anyway do you mean the bushes or the blackcurrants, as they are not ready yet, and my bushes don't smell.  Have you got a problem with cats.  I will just get some blackcurrants out of the freezer and smell them.

The sense of smell varies between us like taste buds.

One person adores cucumber another hates it.

The things I think stink worst are geraniums.

Yes currant bushes do smell, I do not dislike it but my mother always complained they stank of cats. She adored black currant jam so I had to have her currant bushes in my garden. So she could make her jam from them.

I always think some one has left the gas on, unlit, when I smell bleach.

I like smelling my black currant bushes, find the smell very pleasant.  I agree I can't stand the smell of geraniums, it gets on your hands when planting them. Actually I don't really like geraniums at all.  A bit off topic but I do love the smell of TCP.  Just off for a quick sniff.
