even when they are this small its worth ensuring they are planted on top of a mound to deter stem rot.

I did,nt intend setting any away this early.  They were loose seed in the bottom of my box, i did not know how old they were or what types so not being a waistfull  person they went in and got exelent germination.
Had a bit of a think about it and the only seed i have ever bought apart from Carmen are Marketmore.
They may help someone out.

I started mine off early last year but will wait a couple more weeks as it is colder in March 2009 than it was in March 2008 8) 8)

i tarted mine mammoth cucs germinated well put into greenhouse
got a bit of a shock i think withered a little brought back in the house didnt like it either and have lost four from eight placed plastic bags over the remaining ones this morning to try raise the the internal temp a little even though there on the kitchen window sill
