Title: seed potatoes
Post by: Hettyb on February 16, 2009, 15:30:41
I bought a little bag of King Edward seed potatoes and they have shoots which are straggly. Will they harden up or should I break them off and let the potatoes sprout again. I have them on a tray in the spare room. :-\

I would rub them off and let them start again

I think they need natural light, but not direct sunlight, and somewhere cool also.
The shoots should be purple-ish, definitely not white

Thank you all for your advice, I think I will go with Mowhay and rub them off and start again. They had not been properly stored before I bought them. :)
