Title: Fruit Trees
Post by: Manouche on February 12, 2009, 12:18:55
Bought a Coxs Apple Tree also a Cherry(Stella) £3.99 at Lidl they were flying out the store.

Can anyone tell me how far apart  I should plant them. Minimum as I only have a small allotment.
Says on the label they should be left in rootbag if conditions are very col or wet, so I'm leaving them in conservatory which is not heated.

Should I take off the polythene bag that the whole of the tree is in or just leave  the top open.

??? Thanks for any help with this. XXX

This is difficult to answer unless you know what root stock it is on.

Look at 'tree selection' in the related link section here; http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/Apples/Apples.htm (http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/Apples/Apples.htm)
